ON-SITE IMMERSION

Observe, analyse,
provide feedback, drive improvement

Everyday practices bring the standards of a house, boutique, hotel, restaurant, estate, visitor welcome centre or cultural venue to life.

I work directly within your professional environment to observe staff in real situations, analyse what I see, conduct individual interviews and then design targeted simulations.

I support your teams in achieving tangible improvements, whether in their professional presence, gestures, personal presentation, interpersonal skills or choice of words.

The aim is to move towards excellence and enhance the quality of the experience.

Every on-site immersion is designed around your activity, culture, standards and desired outcomes.

AT THE HEART OF YOUR OPERATIONS

An intervention grounded in operational reality

Training provides knowledge and practical reference points. An on-site immersion reveals how they are applied in daily practice, identifies potential areas for improvement and allows me to work directly from the realities of the operation.

Support the development of professional practices

Bring service standards to life every day

Enhance the quality of communication and relationships

Support managers as they guide their teams

Align practices across several departments

Elevate the quality of the welcome and the overall experience

Prepare for a higher level of quality

Extend training through practical support

Assess how effectively the organisation’s standards are being applied

AN ETHICAL APPROACH

A clearly communicated
and transparent presence

My presence and the purpose of the engagement are explained to the teams. Everyone understands the framework of the intervention and the purpose of the observations.

This transparency encourages constructive dialogue and supports professionals in a positive process of development.

Each immersion captures a moment in time. It brings together observable facts, predefined criteria and the impression that a situation may create for a client, visitor or partner.

Every observation is considered within its context: departmental activity, visitor numbers, organisation, responsibilities, constraints and expected standards.

AREAS OF OBSERVATION

Two complementary dimensions

Depending on the objectives of the engagement, the immersion may focus on a single area or combine several dimensions.

Professional, human and interpersonal quality

– Quality of presence
– Attention given to the client or visitor
– Verbal and non-verbal communication
– Professional attitudes and behaviours
– Professional presentation
– Management practices
– Representation of a house, venue, profession or culture
– Consistency of practices across the team

Service quality and standards

– Application of the organisation’s standards
– Consistency of practices
– Quality of the welcome and service
– Attention to detail
– Presentation of the spaces
– Alignment between the expected standard and the experience delivered
– Criteria specific to a department, venue or profession
– Shared quality benchmarks for managers and teams

THE METHOD

Driving improvement

01

Define the scope

A discussion with senior management establishes the context, the objectives of the engagement, the expected standards, the priority situations, the teams involved and the organisation of the intervention.

02

Observe

I am present within the organisation during the periods agreed with senior management. Observations may focus on professional presentation, attitude, conduct, gestures, language, expressions of courtesy, interactions and the quality of presence in those interactions. Depending on the objectives of the engagement, they may also draw on quality criteria tailored to the expected standards.

03

Understand

I first take time to analyse my observations and then meet individually with the professionals concerned. These conversations highlight strengths and areas for improvement, deepen the understanding of specific situations and provide each person with tailored guidance.

04

Drive improvement

A team debrief may also be arranged. It provides an opportunity to share the main findings, recognise strengths, clarify areas for improvement and define shared priorities and benchmarks. Practical exercises can then support tangible changes in day-to-day practices.

FEEDBACK

Engaging feedback
with immediate practical value

The value of the immersion lies in the quality of the dialogue, the awareness it creates and its practical application.

Findings are shared individually with the professionals concerned, collectively with the teams and verbally with senior management.

Depending on the framework agreed in advance, a member of senior management or the department head may attend the individual feedback sessions. These arrangements are communicated to everyone concerned to preserve clarity and the quality of the dialogue.

The collective feedback brings together the insights that will support the team’s development while respecting individual confidentiality.

A PROVEN METHOD

Developed in the hotel industry,
adaptable to other sectors

I first tested and developed this approach in the hotel industry, working with reception, spa reception, restaurant, bar and breakfast teams.

While engagements generally focus on interpersonal practices, communication, professional attitudes and the quality of the experience, they may also include observations of shared spaces, guest rooms and the establishment’s various departments.

Over the years, the exacting standards of the hotel industry have enabled me to develop particularly precise and rigorous observation criteria.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

A method tailored to every environment

Each environment calls for a specific framework and the definition of tailored criteria.

Hotels and restaurants
Luxury houses and retail spaces
Wine estates and champagne houses
Cultural venues and visitor attractions
Tourist information offices
Tourism organisations
